Hosting is
renting space on a web server to store
your web site. The web server is
connected to a "pipeline" to the
Internet which allows your web site to
be viewed on the Internet.
Think of it in terms of renting a place
to park a mobile home, without a space
to park your mobile home you have no
address so you cannot send or receive
mail. No one can find you or visit you.
You make a web site and no one can find
you so you have to rent space. This
space, just like the mobile home, is
indexed in the master files so it can be
found by others. It is given an address
so people can locate you and communicate
with you.
When the web site is close to
completion, hosting will be initiated so
there is a place to store the web site
upon when it's ready to be launched.
For startup companies, or those with
small and simple web sites we have a
Starter Web Hosting
package for only $9.95 per month,
sold in six month blocks for $59.70. If
you need a database, or Listserv we also
have the Standard Web Hosting
package for only $17.95 per
month for the most common web
site hosting and this is sold in six
month blocks so it costs $107.70 every
six months. This includes 100 MB of web
space, (which is adequate for most
sites) and 150 e-mail boxes
directed to anyone you wish. Most web
sites in small business never exceed 4
MB in size. E-commerce sites hosted on a
secure server are priced at $30.00 per
month.
If you do not have a web site now, you
can still get domain e-mail for only
$80.00 per year, for up to 25 e-mail
boxes directed to any location you
choose. The domain e-mail would be set
up like you@yourcompany.com.
